El Mirage Gutter Installation and Repair

We put up and fix one-piece aluminum gutters and downspouts on El Mirage homes. For months they hold nothing. Then a monsoon dumps an inch of rain in thirty minutes, and they decide whether that water lands on your walls or ends up where it belongs.

Why gutters matter in the desert

Plenty of homes here were built without gutters, or with only a short run over the front door. That works until the summer storms. Water pours off the roof edge, splashes mud up the stucco, cuts trenches in the gravel and pools against the slab. Over a few seasons you see stained walls, settling pavers and cracked patio edges.

Good gutters fix that by catching the water and moving it somewhere useful: a splash block, an extension out past the planting bed, or a spot in the yard that drains well. We size them for the short, heavy bursts we get in July, August and September, not for the light winter rain.

Gutter work happens right next to your walls, windows and plants, so we treat the ground below as part of the job. We lay drop cloths, keep ladders off your flower beds and pick up every scrap of aluminum and every screw before we leave.

What comes with a gutter job

Made in your driveway
We run the gutter off a coil right in your driveway, cut to fit each run exactly. Fewer seams means fewer drips. Most houses take 5-inch K-style, while bigger roofs or long tile slopes often call for 6-inch.
Downspouts where water can go
Downspouts go where the water has somewhere to drain, not just at the closest corner. Every one finishes with an extension or splash block that moves water off walkways and away from the foundation.
Hangers built for the heat
Aluminum expands and contracts plenty between a chilly January night and a 115-degree afternoon. We screw hidden hangers into the fascia close together and put expansion joints in long runs so the seams stay tight.
Working with tile edges
Concrete and clay tile overhang the roof edge, which complicates where a gutter sits. We position it to catch the runoff from the tile without lifting or cracking any pieces.
Fixes and resealing
Dripping corners, sagging runs, loose downspouts and broken end caps can usually be repaired without a full replacement. We reseal joints, correct low spots and replace damaged parts.
Colors to match your trim
Gutters come with baked-on finishes that stand up to sun much better than paint. We bring color samples so you can match your stucco or fascia.

Signs your gutters need attention

  • Water spilling over the edge

If water sheets over the front of the gutter during a storm, it's clogged, sloped wrong or too small for that part of the roof.

  • Mud splash on the stucco

A band of dirt along the bottom of your walls means roof water is landing hard right next to the house.

  • Sagging or pulled-away runs

Gutters that dip or lean out from the fascia have lost hangers. Packed dust and leaves add weight, and the next storm can pull a section down.

  • Puddles by the slab after rain

Standing water against the foundation, or gravel washed off the beds, tells you downspouts are dumping in the wrong spot.

  • Drips at corners and seams

Rust-colored streaks or steady drips at the joints mean the sealant has dried out in the sun and cracked.

What drives gutter pricing

Most of a gutter price comes from footage and how easy the roof edge is to reach. We measure each run and note the numbers so you can see how the cost adds up. We don't add anything on install day unless you agree.

Length of gutter

How long the runs are and how many downspouts you need make up most of the cost.

Size and color choice

Six-inch gutters and bigger downspouts cost more than 5-inch, but they keep up better with heavy monsoon bursts on larger roofs.

Height and access

Two-story walls, sloped yards and narrow side yards between block walls mean more ladder work and more time.

Shape of the fascia

Fascia that's rotted or sun-damaged must be repaired before gutters go up, adding labor and material.

Taking off old gutters

Removing and hauling off an existing system takes a bit more time than starting on a house with no gutters.

How a gutter job goes

  1. 1

    Walk-around and estimate

We look at your roof edges, fascia, current gutters if you have them and where water ends up in your yard. You get a written estimate with each run, downspout and repair listed.

  2. 2

    Fascia check first

Gutters are only as solid as the wood they hang on. If we find soft or cracked fascia, we show you and price that fix separately so you can decide.

  3. 3

    Install day

We cover plants and lay cloths along the walls, then take down old gutters if needed. The new runs are formed on site, hung, sealed and tested with a hose. Most homes are done in a day.

  4. 4

    Cleanup and walk-through

We pick up cut-offs, screws and old material, rinse any dust off windows near the work and walk the house with you. You see where every downspout drains before we pack up.

Common gutter questions

Does an El Mirage home actually need gutters?

Some don't. If water drips off the roof onto gravel well clear of the walls and there's no staining or pooling, you may not need them. If storms splash mud on the stucco or leave water at the slab, gutters on those sides pay off. We'll point out which sides need them and which can go without.

How often do gutters here need cleaning?

Most years, once is enough, best done in late spring ahead of monsoon season. Dust, palo verde blossoms and mesquite leaves pile up and compact. Houses under large trees may need another cleaning in the fall.

Can gutters go on a tile roof?

Yes. The key is setting them at the right height and distance so the water running off the tile drops into them. Whenever possible we install them without stepping on or lifting the tiles.

Is a repair possible instead of new gutters?

Many times. When the runs are solid and only a few seams leak or one section sags, repairing is the smart move. When gutters are bent, too small or hanging off rotted fascia, replacing is the better choice, and we'll walk you through why.

Do you do gutters beyond El Mirage?

We do. Our gutter work also reaches Surprise, Youngtown, Peoria, Glendale, Litchfield Park and Tolleson.

Is a new roof a good time for new gutters?

If a roof replacement is on the calendar, adding or replacing gutters then is smart, since the roof edge is already open. A roof inspection can also show whether your fascia and drip edge are ready to take new gutters.
